Paul Patterson’s story
Paul Patterson has a story to tell
It may surprise you to know that the vast majority of deaf children (95%) have hearing parents. Before the deaf child enters their lives those parents are usually unprepared for what is to come. This is the story of a family coping with the unexpected deafness of a son, and of finding unexpected help to bring the family together in a new way.
It isn’t easy to overcome a wall of silence.
It takes a lot of work. Unfortunately, not every hearing family will put in the time, effort, and energy to climb that wall. Only 1 out of 10 hearing parents of deaf children will do what the Pattersons have done to give their son the things he needs most to build a rich and meaningful life as a deaf person. But in that effort they need all the tools they can get — tools specifically designed to help them pass on their faith in the language of the Deaf.
Silent Blessings creates tools that bring families together
