Sarah’s Story
In the early days of Silent Blessings, when our founder Marshall was traveling to various churches, he met a family with a precious little girl we’ve renamed Sarah. He gave this family some video resources, then soon received a letter from Sarah’s mother. She has become our inspiration and mascot — because every child should know that Jesus loves them, understands their language, and wants a relationship with them. Sarah’s story is one of several 30-second and 60-second radio spots, all available on our “Think With Me” page. These can be freely downloaded and broadcast in their entirety. We have no video for the radio-spots content at this time.

Think with me for a moment about a six-year-old Deaf girl named Sarah. Sign language is her primary language, and her parents worked hard to learn enough sign to be able to tell Sarah about Jesus. She loved the prayer at the dinner table, because the family would try to sign as well as speak that prayer. But Sarah herself would never pray. Every time she was given the opportunity, she would refuse. This puzzled her parents, until one day Sarah saw a video of another Deaf child praying. She ran to her mother and signed excitedly, “Mommy! Jesus knows Sign!” Across America, tens of thousands of Deaf children don’t know they have access to Jesus. But we can change that. To find out what you can do to put prayers on the fingertips of Deaf children like Sarah, call 877-FOR-DEAF or on the web at ForDeaf.org.
