I’m Kaitlyn: a daughter of the Most High King, a wife, and a mom to three kids (two daughters and a son in the middle). I grew up dancing as my extracurricular activity. In 2006, one of my high school dance friend’s mom was deaf, but I never had any interest in ASL back then.
Fast forward to 2019, when my youngest daughter entered Atlanta Area School for the Deaf’s Toddler Program. Imagine my surprise when I recognized that dance friend’s mom as one of my daughter’s new teachers. God has a sense of humor! He has opened my eyes to the deaf culture and American Sign Language. I am confident that God has equipped me “for good works, which God prepared beforehand” (Eph. 2:10) and that learning how to parent and disciple my deaf daughter is part of my sanctification. I am a firm believer that prayer is transformational, and I’m honored to partner with other parents in praying for our deaf kids’ salvation. To God be the glory!
