Faces of Silent Blessings

FEATURED VIDEO:

This Christmas season we’re launching a new effort to tell our story through the personal stories of some special people. The campaign is called Faces of Silent Blessings.  Over the next few weeks we’ll share several short videos with you – each one a story of how God used this ministry to bless, to encourage, and to change their lives.

Paul Patterson has a story to tell

This is the story of a family coping with the unexpected deafness of a son, and of finding unexpected help to bring the family together in a new way.

It isn’t easy to overcome a wall of silence.

It may surprise you to know that the vast majority of deaf children (95%) have hearing parents.  Before the deaf child enters their lives those parents are usually unprepared for what is to come.  It takes a lot of work. Unfortunately, not every hearing family will put in the time, effort, and energy to climb that wall. Only 1 out of 10 hearing parents of deaf children will do what the Pattersons have done to give their son the things he needs most to build a rich and meaningful life as a deaf person.  But in that effort they need all the tools they can get  — tools specifically designed to help them pass on their faith in the language of the Deaf.

Silent Blessings creates tools that bring families together

Dr. Wonder’s Workshop is one of those tools.  To find out more about this   very special TV series, click here.  But don’t just take our word for it.  Listen to more of the Pattersons’ story and hear from Paul’s wife, Ticona, and their son, Amonte.  Click the picture to the left.
