Workshop for Families
Purpose:
To create a platform for hearing parents who are raising Deaf or HoH children to find personal support, encouragement, connection, idea sharing and prayer as they walk in their calling of spiritually disciplining their children.
Why is this needed?
Families made up of hearing parents to Deaf children have very unique challenges especially as they seek a Biblical mission of sharing the love of Jesus with their family. Within a person’s local community, especially within the church, it is often difficult to find others who understand the nuances of this unique task and who can relate and support a family’s efforts. Isolation, loneliness, stress and worry are often emotions the parents bear alone, unable to find people around them who have the answers, skills and commitment to help. The intention for these meetings is to share answers to some of those practical topics as well as facilitate a network of fellow parents who can help carry the weight together in community as God designed.
