Community Interpreting

Community Interpreting

March 25th, 2023

Silent Blessings is now in partnership with Luna Language Services. Adding interpreting as a service doesn’t change the mission and focus of Silent Blessings, which is to meet the spiritual needs of Deaf children and their families by developing elementary bilingual biblical education resources in ASL and English.

Luna’s involvement will be the business side of scheduling and client relations. We are now one of their local partners in serving the many interpreting needs of the community. Kelsey’s schedule will not change, as she’s been working part time for us for several years while attending school and then while interpreting.

This new agreement will be completely transparent to interpreting clients. Luna already has an established menu of services and fee structure, as well as an established reputation among the community and other interpreting partners. No one will be charged differently because they are being served from the Silent Blessings office. When interpreting, Kelsey will be seen as a Luna representative, as it is with other partners.

So why would we do this if nothing changes? Because it provides an income stream as well as an opportunity to serve the community in special circumstances. We also hope, though it would be indirectly, that more people in our local Deaf Community will become interested in the ministry work of Silent Blessings.

If you’re in need of interpreting services in the Indianapolis area, contact Luna Language Services through info@Luna360.com. To request Kelsey, simply state in your email that your preferred interpreter is Kelsey Voss. As always, the availability of a specific interpreter cannot be guaranteed, but we have confidence that you will be served well by any of the fine interpreters in the Indianapolis area.

If you’d like a presentation on why interpreting is important and what’s involved, send us a note through AdminTeam@SilentBlessings.org. There are a few of us here who would love to share that with you from a few different perspectives.
